Lately in studio I have been getting back into setting stones. I love all metal jewelry, but sometimes it's nice to have a little color. I've been particularly obsessed with rose cut stones, which are faceted cabochons. They work well in a bezel setting, and the facets are really eye-catching. Here is a preview of my new favorite style earring:
These sapphire studs are simple and wearable, but still a little edgy. I also love the way the setting conforms to the rough cut of the stone, giving the earrings a more organic feel. This style is a winner in my book.
